Jazz Teacher Summit - July 9, 2026
On Thursday, July 9, the ߣ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Jazz Institute will present a Jazz Teaching Summit designed for New York State K-12 music teachers who are preparing to teach jazz ensembles. The day-long program of master classes will be taught by the Institute’s faculty including Todd Coolman, Dennis Mackrel, Bill Cunliffe, Russell Haight, James Burton III, Tatum Greenblatt, Brian Carucci and Andrew Lammly. Topics will include rhythm section, brass section, and saxophone section fundamentals.
Participants will have the chance to attend Institute classes while in session, and the program concludes with a concert featuring the ߣ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Jazz Faculty All-Stars. All activities will be held in the Arthur Zankel Music Center on the ߣ¶ÌÊÓÆµ campus in Saratoga Springs, NY and dinner will be included. The schedule follows below.
This professional learning opportunity is available at no cost to music educators. Interested teachers must register with the to earn ten (10) continuing teacher and leader education (CTLE) hours.
