  1. Accompanists
  2. ߣ¶ÌÊÓƵ accompanists provide services according to the policies set forth below in the Performance Handbook.
  3. At the start of the semester, accompanists will provide studio faculty with their schedule for that semester, and a copy of these regulations set forth in the Performance Handbook.
  4. Accompanist Requests

Each semester, studio faculty may request accompanying services for selected students, within the guidelines established in the Performance Handbook.

When submitting a request, the studio faculty member should provide:

  • The number of hours requested for lessons and rehearsals.
  • The planned performances or performance-related activities for each student, such as:
    • Concerto Competition
    • Student recital
    • Master class
    • Other scheduled performances

Assignment of Accompanist Time:

  • Requests will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis until the accompanist’s required workload has been met.
  • If a student is not assigned accompanist time at the beginning of the semester, the studio faculty member may not request accompanist time for that student later in the semester.
  • Faculty are therefore encouraged to submit requests as early as possible to ensure that students receive the necessary accompanying support.
  • Studio faculty requests will be met on a first come, first served basis until the accompanist’s hours have been exhausted.
  • Accompanists will not be contracted to perform on Sundays.
  1. In general, Music minors or non-music majors will receive no fewer than 2 hours of service per semester.

The studio instructor is responsible for requesting accompanist hours and initiating arrangements with the assigned pianist no later than six weeks before the competition date.

ï‚·&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Requests submitted fewer than six weeks before the audition or competition date may be accepted or declined at the accompanist's discretion, based on availability and the amount of preparation time required.

  • Finalizing and communicating repertoire selections in a timely manner.
  • Responding promptly to accompanist communications regarding scheduling and preparation.

  3. Attendance and Rehearsal Policies
    • Students must notify the accompanist as soon as possible if they are unable to attend a scheduled lesson or rehearsal.
    • Rehearsals canceled with less than 24 hours' notice do not have to be made up by the accompanist.
    • For cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice, the accompanist is required to make up one missed rehearsal.
  4. Music:
