Known for 鈥渇resh, exciting performances charged with creativity, energy, and daring鈥
(New York Classical Review), Carnegie Hall鈥檚 Ensemble Connect presents a characteristically adventurous program
featuring works by some of the chamber repertoire鈥檚 most distinctive composers. In
addition to notable but underperformed works by Ligeti, Loeffler, and Kod谩ly, the
ensemble performs a favorite: Bart贸k鈥檚 Contrasts, a piece created in response to requests by jazz great Benny Goodman and Hungarian
violinist Joseph Szigeti.
This event is free and open to the public; tickets required
Presented by the Department of Music and the Office of Special Programs
The biannual residency is made possible by the generous support of 撸短视频 alumna Beverly Sanders Payne, Class of 1959, and her late husband David B. Payne (October residency) and the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation (February residency).
