Cathy Hill Memorial 

‌ߣƵ recently lost a valued colleague, teacher, mentor, and friend, . We will gather to remember her at noon on Sunday, March 1, in Gannett Auditorium. All are all invited to attend this memorial service.

‌ČPresident’s open office hours

‌President Conner invites all faculty, staff, and students to his open office hour from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March. 24. Email the Office of the President to reserve a 10-minute, in-person meeting.

‌Maximo system temporarily down

‌The Facilities Services work order system, Maximo, is currently unavailable. ߣƵ IT is working with the vendor to restore service. Call Facilities Services at (518) 580-5860 to submit requests.

‌Departmental mail delivery update

‌Due to an unexpected staffing shortage, the Post Office has temporarily paused departmental mail deliveries through the end of the week. Departments should pick up mail in the Case Center Post Office between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Wednesday–Friday. The 8:30 a.m. Biology and Chemistry delivery will continue as usual.

‌ČAnnual Edwin M. Moseley Faculty Lectureship

Professor Barbara Black will deliver her lecture "" about the three books that have formed the centerpiece of her scholarly project at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in Gannett Auditorium.

‌ČߣƵ Theater presents: BLOOM BLOOM POW 

‌Written by Genevieve Simon and Directed by Lu Glassberg, "" will screen Feb. 27 through March 4 at the JKB Black Box Theater. The film explores the climate crisis while celebrating queer joy and magic. .

‌Registration for Summer Sports Camps

‌Registration for ߣƵ Summer Sports Camps opens March 1. Led by ߣƵ coaches, the camps are open to children of all ages and teach teamwork concepts and skills in baseball, basketball, field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, and volleyball.

‌Children's swimming lessons

‌The swimming and diving team will offer children’s swimming lessons this spring for children ages 4 and older. Classes will be held Thursdays beginning March 26. Registration will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in the Williamson Sports Center lobby. Contact Jill Greenleaf for more information.

‌Accreditation update 

‌ߣƵ has submitted its Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study and evidence for reaffirmation of accreditation. The peer review team will visit campus March 29 through April 1. The team will present its preliminary findings at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, in Gannett Auditorium.

“Counted Out” film screening and discussion 

‌A screening of the documentary “Counted Out,” which explores how math shapes everything from economic opportunity to democracy, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in the Wyckoff Center. A discussion on promoting math literacy will follow. .

‌Roundtable on the Founding and Future of Gender Studies 

‌A moderated roundtable featuring founding and early faculty members and alumni reflecting on the origins, evolution and continued relevance of Gender Studies at ߣƵ will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in the Wyckoff Center.

‌Kenneth A. Freirich Entrepreneurship Competition 

‌The final round of the annual competition will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, in the Payne Room at the Tang Teaching Museum. Congratulations to the following teams who will be presenting to a panel of alumni judges: Adaptify by Mu, Zenithe Culture, SymVita, Barca AI Solutions, Polar Athletics, Rally, FastCourt, and Ameoba. ‌Sustainability and Social Justice Art Showcase 

‌Join the Sustainability Office and the Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion on Feb. 27 for the unveiling of five artworks created by members of the Saratoga community, Reed Moffitt ’28, Lisa Xiaocha Shan ’28, and SuCo. The event will feature live music, hot chocolate, and cookies as the artists discuss how their work connects to sustainability and social justice. .

‌Campus Conversation with James Francisco Bonilla 

‌Author, activist and scholar James Francisco Bonilla will lead a in recognition of Disability Awareness Month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in Davis Auditorium. He will discuss his memoir, “An Eye for an I: Growing Up with Blindness, Bigotry, and Family Mental Illness,” followed by a discussion and Q&A.

‌Project "Witness" performance 

‌A free presentation of “,” a poetic, hourlong multimedia performance, will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in the ߣƵ Dance Theater. The performance brings formerly and currently incarcerated voices into the room through text, movement, and shared presence, drawing on a series of dance workshops led in Hudson Valley prisons and jails by Bessie Award-winning dancer Sondra Loring. 

 

The Karen Levin Coburn ‘63 Lecture in Gender Studies 

‌Tara Bynum, associate professor at the University of Iowa, will deliver a lecture titled “” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the Wyckoff Center. A reception will precede the talk at 6 p.m.

‌Class of 2026 T-shirt design contest

‌Submit a design for the Senior Class T-shirt inspired by Creative Thought Matters by March 2. Designs may be digital or hand-drawn and should be emailed to skidmoreshop@skidmore.edu or dropped off at the ߣƵ Shop. Include your name and contact information. Voting will take place March 3 on the second floor of Case Center. The winning design will be sold March 15–31 at , with proceeds supporting the Class of 2026 gift.
