Joe Pillari
Visiting Assistant Professor

Areas of Expertise: Metals and Jewelry

Joe Pillari was born in Red Bank NJ. He received his MFA in Metal at the State University of New York at New Paltz and has a BFA in Crafts with a concentration in Jewelry and Metals from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. His artistic career has focused primarily on the exploration of jewelry and the use of enamel and a photographic painting technique he has developed over years of practice. Joe’s work explores the subtle beauty in the passing of time and the distance of memory. His pieces deal with life’s cherished moments that exist on the cusp of fading away. Joe has exhibited internationally and was most recently included in “Schmuck 2025”, Internationale Handwerkmesse, Munich, DE, “Craftforms” Wayne Art Museum, and the Graduate Show, Galerie Marzee, Nijmegen, Netherlands winning a Graduate Prize. His work is part of several public collections including the Newark Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The State Hermitage Museum, and The Woodmere Art Museum.
